I’ve never really been one for bright lipsticks. I’ve dabbled with various bright pinks and reds in the past but they always make my face look really washed out, like I’ve emerged from a watery cave. I learnt that the hard way. I’m much more of a strong eye-makeup look so usually go for a bit of lip balm or a nude lipstick.
I’ve been on a beady-eyed hunt for the perfect nude for a while and spotted Rimmel’s Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick in the colour 03. I’ve always bought Rimmel lipsticks as I find that out of all the drugstore brands, they’ve got the biggest range of colours and finishes.
Since I bought Rimmel’s Kate Lasting Finish, I’ve been using it pretty much every time I do decide to wear lipstick which isn’t really that often. Usually I’m horribly rushed in the mornings, resulting in half my makeup getting done at home and the rest of the wobbly application executed on the bus. Another reason to love nudes – no one’s going to notice if you don’t stay inside the lines!
This particular lipstick has earned its place in my handbag, and it’s matte finish means it’s nice for daytime and night time. It’s got a creamy formula which glides onto the lips and feels quite moisturising. Rimmel’s outlandish claims about its ‘Lasting Finish’ aren’t entirely true, it doesn’t last anywhere near 8 hours but at £5.49 can you really complain? But then again, I can’t get by more than an hour without putting something in my mouth
- Suits pretty much all skin tones
- Doesn’t last as long as it claims
